The Busan Story Market (BSM) is a specialized marketplace for film and audiovisual adaptations of original intellectual property (IP).

In the Korean IP, 15 titles are featured, ranging from emotionally rich human dramas to AI-themed fantasy, fusion historical romance, period drama, and cross-genre works all demonstrating strong potential for audiovisual adaptation.

The four Taiwanese IPs presented through the Taiwan Content Creative Agency (TAICCA) consist of one book, one webtoon, one web novel, and one comic. These titles stand out for their inventive high concepts with universal appeal, driven by sharp loglines that leave an immediate impression. Meanwhile, the four Japanese IPs introduced via the Visual Industry Promotion Organization (VIPO) feature one book and three comics. They build a powerful narrative pull shaped by secrets and obsessions, intricately exploring complex characters and relationships.

This year, the lineup expands to include IPs from Indonesia and Hong Kong. For Indonesian IP, two comics were selected through the 2025 JAFF Content Market. Both titles were honored as award winners at the market, earning high recognition for their potential for audiovisual adaptation. The Hong Kong IPs comprise three animated shorts and one comic selected by the Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency (CCIDA). Rooted in Hong Kong’s unique cultural fusion, rich heritage, and futuristic concepts, the selections showcase a rich and diverse appeal. This expanded lineup is expected to solidify Busan Story Market's position as a hub for original IP trading in Asia.

As remakes continue to achieve box-office success across Asia, the localization potential of proven stories has emerged as a key industry issue. In response, the Busan Story Market has established a new Remake IP section.

For its inaugural Remake IP lineup, the market introduces five feature films from Thailand, showcasing some of Asia’s most inventive genre storytelling. From sensory occult and everyday thrillers to time loops, horror-romance, and inventive rom-coms with exotic settings, the selections cleverly combine proven formats with universal themes. ​
