Joint Growth Network for Asian Independent Filmmakers!

Platform BUSAN serves as a vital meeting ground where independent filmmakers from across Asia can converge, share their diverse experiences, and discover avenues for collaboration and mutual support. By fostering a robust network among young, aspiring filmmakers active in the Asian cinema scene, we envision the Busan International Film Festival (BIFF), already a cornerstone of Asian cinema, playing an even more pivotal role in shaping the future trajectory of Asian film.

Since its successful inception in 2017, Platform BUSAN has grown significantly. In 2025, it welcomed 148 emerging independent filmmakers from 23 countries.. Through its comprehensive and practical programs, Platform BUSAN is dedicated to providing a springboard for these Asian filmmakers, enabling them to grow professionally and launch themselves onto a broader international stage.
