Mohsen Makhmalbaf is an Iranian film director most well-known for The Cyclist (Bicycleran) (1987), Time of Love (1990), Kandahar (2001), and The President (2014). At the 28th BUSAN International Film Festival, he is set to present his compilation film Talking with Rivers (2023). As film director, editor, producer, writer, and educator, he will share his broad experience and philosophy with the listeners.

PARK Sungho(Programmer, Busan International Film Festival)

PARK Sungho is a programmer for Cambodia International Film Festival and Busan International Film Festival, and is working to promote Southeast Asian cinema globally. Park was born in Seoul, Korea in 1977. He majored in Film Editing at the Cinematography Department at Chung-Ang University. In 2007, he joined the Busan International Film Festival and served as a program coordinator for Asian cinema and manager for the Asian Film Academy. In 2013, he moved his base to Phnom Penh. Since 2016, he has joined Cambodia-based film production company Anti-Archive as a producer.

Mohsen MAKHMALBAF(Director)

Mohsen Makhmalbaf is an Iranian director, writer, producer, and is widely recognized as one of the most influential filmmakers of Iranian new wave cinema. The director has also published more than thirty books. With his critically-acclaimed films such as Salam Cinema (1995), Gabbeh (1996), A Moment of Innocence (1996), he Silence (1998), Kandahar (2001), Scream of the Ant (2007), The Gardener (2012), and The President (2014), the director has won more than sixty awards at prestigious international film festivals including Cannes, Venice, and Locarno. Among his films, Kandahar was selected as one of the best 100 films of all time by Time magazine.
