Contents from Korea, Japan, and US are leading the global market. Production companies from each country have gathered to discuss the industry trends and international co-productions. In the first session, Anthology Studios will share its English language film lineups by director Kim Jee-Woon and Anthony Shim and its global co-production strategies. In the following session, SLL's CEO, Jung Kyung Moon, will discuss the significance of entering the Japanese production market, compare the production environments in South Korea and Japan and offer insights into the future direction of Asian content in collaboration with prominent Japanese creators.

Jay Jaewon CHOI (CEO, Anthology Studios)

Jay Jae-Won Choi is the CEO and co-founder of Anthology Studios. His experience ranges from film financing, producing and distribution. He started his career in film financing introducing the concept of film funds in Korea. He served as a Deputy Chairperson of Korean Film Council and was Head of Local Production for Warner Bros. Korea in charge of 12 local language titles such as The Age of Shadows, The Witch, bridging the gap between the local film market and a major Hollywood studio.

His filmography includes Cobweb, The Age of Shadows, The Attorney, Mother, The Good, The Bad, The Weird, A Tale of Two Sisters and many others.

Anthony SHIM (Director)

Anthony Shim is the acclaimed writer-director of the 2023-released drama RICEBOY SLEEPS, which won the Platform Prize at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival. The film also won the Toronto Film Critics Association’s Rogers Best Canadian Film Award and the Canadian Screen Award for Best Original Screenplay at the 2023 Canadian Screen Awards. RICEBOY SLEEPS, inspired in part by Shim’s own childhood, tells the story of a Korean immigrant single mother raising her teenage son in Canada. Shim was born in Seoul and moved to Vancouver as a child. He now lives between Canada and Korea.

David FLYNN (Head of Global Drama, wiip)

David Flynn serves on the creative leadership team for wiip, an independent, global, digital, talent-driven studio. In this position, Flynn focuses on international drama and plays an integral role in the studio’s efforts to identify, develop and produce projects for the cable, streaming, domestic and international marketplace.

Previously, Flynn served as EVP of International Strategy at Paramount TV. Prior to that, Flynn spent 11 years as an agent at UTA, where he built up a robust international business with filmmakers including Baran do Odar and Jantje Friese (Dark), Zal Batmanglij (The OA), Thomas Bidegain (Un Prophète), László Nemes (Son of Saul), Paolo Sorrentino (The Great Beauty), Saverio Costanzo (My Brilliant Friend), Rupert Wyatt (The Escapist), Andrey Zvyagintsev (The Return), Sean Durkin (Martha Marcy May Marlene) and Bart Layton (American Animals).

Soonho SONG (Producer, Anthology Studios)

Soon Ho Song is the producer at Anthology Studios and mainly focuses on international projects for global audience. Closely collaborating with writers, directors and producers outside of Korea, he oversees a diverse slate of film and tv projects for international markets.

He spent his life between Korea and the U.S. and previously worked at Local Production for Warner Bros. Korea for 5 years.

Sungchul JU (Editor)

Sungchul JU is the editor-in-chief of CINEPLAY, an official partner for movie content in Korea’s biggest search platform Naver.
Having worked as a journalist for movie magazines KINO and Film 2.0, he also served as an editor at Cine21.
He has authored books such as Those Who Parted Meet Again in Hong Kong, Leslie Cheung: The Time We Loved, The Moment of Debut, Masters of Cinema in Our Era, and I Like the Backside of That Movie. Currently, he appears on Movie Gunjo (YouTube) and Front Row, First Row (JTBC).

Kyungmoon JUNG (CEO, SLL)

Kyungmoon JUNG is the CEO of SLL, Korea's first integrated studio encompassing all aspects of content business from content planning, development, production, investment to distribution. Having worked as a reporter for “Ilgan Sports”, he has served as the CEO in various companies such as Phantom Entertainment, Ilgan Sports, Joongang Entertainment & Sports, Joongang Broadcasting, JTBC Plus, and JTBC Content Hub.

Arisa KANEKO (Writer)

Arisa KANEKO is a graduate of the Film Studies department at a prestigious Japanese College of Arts. In 1996, at the age of 22, she made her debut as a writer by winning the 8th Fuji TV Drama Screenplay Award for Toki and the Winter Garden.
Some of her recent written works include Burn the House Down (Netflix), Pending Train (TBS), Why I Dress Up for Love (TBS), and TANG (film).

Aki KO (Producer)

Aki KO is currently a producer at a prestigious Japanese production company named AX-ON. She made her debut as a drama series producer in 2013, participating as a producer of The 35 Year-Old High School Student.
Adapting Marie Kondo's The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up, Ko Aki received the '15th Young Video Creator Excellence Award' for her drama adaptation.
She has been involved in planning live-action dramas and films based on popular comics, such as From Today, It’s My Turn!!. The film adaptation of From Today, It's My Turn!! recorded the highest box office revenue during the COVID-19 period in Japan, with a revenue of 5.37 billion yen. She also won the Elandor Award presented by the All Nippon Producers Association (ANPA) in Japan to recognize achievements in domestic motion pictures and television.
