Producers' Talk: Prominent Indonesian Producers

The prominent producers from Indonesia will share their stories and years of experience with emerging filmmakers. Introducing on-going projects and providing practical information on film production, they will guide up-and-coming filmmakers with deeper understanding of producing.

PARK Sungho (Programmer, Busan International Film Festival)

PARK Sungho is a programmer for Cambodia International Film Festival and Busan International Film Festival, and is working to promote Southeast Asian cinema globally. Park was born in Seoul, Korea in 1977. He majored in Film Editing at the Cinematography Department at Chung-Ang University. In 2007, he joined the Busan International Film Festival and served as a program coordinator for Asian cinema and manager for the Asian Film Academy. In 2013, he moved his base to Phnom Penh. Since 2016, he has joined Cambodia-based film production company Anti-Archive as a producer.

Yulia Evina BHARA (KawanKawan Media, Producer)

Yulia Evina Bhara is Producer and the founder of KawanKawan Media, a production company based in Jakarta, Indonesia. She produced among others: On the Origin of Fear (2016) by Bayu Filemon, Solo, Solitude (2016) by Yosep Anggi Noen, The Science of Fictions (2019) by Yosep Anggi Noen, Documentary You and I (2020) by Fanny Chotimah, Whether The Weather Is Fine (2021) by Carlo Francisco Manatad, Stone Turtle by Woo Ming Jin (2022), Autobiography by Makbul Mubarak, Tiger Stripes by Amanda Nell Eu, Dreaming & Dying (2023) by Nelson Yeo, Last Shadow At The First Light (2023) by Nicole Midori Woodford, 24 Hours With Gaspar (2023) by Yosep Anggi Noen.

Meiske TAURISIA (Palari Films, Producer)

Meiske entered the film industry in 2004 as a Costume Designer. She then became a producer and produced Blind Pig Who Wants to Fly (2008), Postcards from the Zoo (2012), Rocket Rain (2014), The Fox Exploits the Tiger’s Might (2015), Following Diana (2015), Love Story Not (2015), and Cuts (2016).In 2016, Meiske co-founded Palari Films and produced Posesif (2017, SGIFF), Aruna & Her Palate (2018, Culinary Cinema, Berlinale 2019), Ali & Ratu Ratu Queens (2021, Netflix), and Vengeance Is Mine, All Others Pay Cash (2021, Golden Leopard, Locarno Film Festival). In 2019, Meiske co-founded LOCK a film lab for Indonesian filmmakers.

Mandy MARAHIMIN (Talamedia, producer)

Mandy Marahimin is a film producer based in Jakarta, Indonesia, who produces feature films, documentaries, and shorts. She produced the film Crocodile Tears, a first feature by Tumpal Tampubolon, a co-production between Indonesia, France, Germany, and Singapore. Her films have been screened in the cinemas, Netflix, and various film festivals around the world.
