Co-production Case Study: Plan75 by VIPO

In the inaugural collaboration program between Platform Busan and VIPO, the featured case study is on the co-production of PLAN75 which premiered at last year’s Cannes Film Festival and won the Camera d'Or Special Mention, and then screened atBusan International Film Festival 2022. The main co-producers from Japan Eiko Mizuno-Gray and Jason Gray will talk about how they worked together with three other countries and its success led to Japan's representation for Best International Film at the 2023 Academy Awards. Co-produced by Japan, France, the Philippines and Qatar.

Eiko MIZUNO-GRAY(Producers, Loaded Films)

CEO and producer at Loaded Films, which she founded in Tokyo. Her credits include Magic Kimono, Ten Years Japan (executive producer Hirokazu Kore-eda), Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s To the Ends of the Earth, and Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s episode of Amazon series Modern Love Tokyo. Chie Hayakawa’s Plan 75 is her latest production, which won the Camera d'Or Special Mention at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival and was Japan’s 2023 Oscar entry.

Jason GRAY(Producers, Loaded Films)

Has over twenty years’ experience in the Japanese film industry, as a journalist, translator, and producer. Co-founder of Loaded Films. His credits include Magic Kimono, Ten Years Japan, and Kiyoshi Kurosawa’s To the Ends of the Earth. Credited with co-story and as producer on Chie Hayakawa’s Plan 75, which won the Camera d'Or Special Mention at the 2022 Cannes Film Festival and was Japan’s 2023 Oscar entry.
