Ellen Y. D. KIM Appointed as Director of Asian Contents & Film Market!
The Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) had the selection of the new director of Asian Contents & Film Market (ACFM) on 4th March at the Busan Cinema Center.

Ellen Y. D. Kim to Helm Asian Contents & Film Market
The final candidate, Ellen Y. D. Kim, was officially approved the helm of ACFM at the general assembly, commencing her 4-year term on 8th March. This selection marks the inaugural instance of open recruitment for the ACFM directorship.
Kim brings a wealth of experience to her new role, having held pivotal positions within BIFF in the 90's, including Program Team Manager and Planning & Budget Team Manager. Notably, she played a crucial role in establishing ACFM in 2006. She has (co-)produced arthouse films, including Cry Woman (2002), Night And Day (2008), Hanaan (2011), and Sewing Sisters (2020), and brought them successfully at prestigious international festivals. Her expertise spans film production, investment, distribution, and global marketing.
Previously serving as program director at the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, Kim has cultivated a robust network and in-depth understanding of market operations and the content industry. Her vision for ACFM includes initiatives such as expert governance representing the Asian film industry and a platform dedicated to showcasing innovative technologies and content.

Kim will be in the Hong Kong FILMART from 11th to 14th March, raising expectations for new movements in the Asian Contents & Film Market.

The 2024 Asian Contents & Film Market will be held from the 5th to the 8th of October for industry professionals worldwide alongside the 29th Busan International Film Festival.
