Film Fund Talk is a special session organized by the Asian Contents & Film Market to provide essential information on film funds for filmmakers seeking production and development support. Representatives from major film funds will participate as panelists to introduce their initiatives to Asian filmmakers. In this session, the participants will get to know how to apply for each fund and the range of support each fund provides.

Fran BORGIA (Producer, Akanga Film Asia / Ambassador, TorinoFilmLab)

Fran Borgia is the founder of Akanga Film Asia. Over the past two decades he has produced numerous critically acclaimed films, including A Land Imagined (2018), which won the Golden Leopard at the Locarno Film Festival. His producing credits include Yuni (Toronto Platform Prize 2021), Tiger Stripes (Cannes Critics’ Week Grand Prize 2023), Stranger Eyes (Venice Main Competition 2024), Village Rockstars 2 (Busan Jiseok Award 2024), Renoir (Cannes Main Competition 2025), and Amoeba (Toronto Discovery 2025). He is currently pursuing a PhD on Poetic Cinema at Auckland University of Technology, and serves as an Ambassador for TorinoFilmLab.

Fund Programs
Asian Cinema Fund (ACF) / Ellen Y. D. KIM (Director, Asian Contents & Film Market)

The Asian Cinema Fund (ACF) is a production support initiative designed to discover outstanding film projects and provide practical assistance toward their completion, fostering independent cinema in Korea and across Asia. This year, ACF streamlined its support system to establish a more sustainable creative ecosystem and enhance regional cooperation, significantly strengthening the Co-Production Support Fund.

Ko-Co Fund (KOFIC Co-Production Fund) / KIM Hyounsoo (Manager, International Co-Production Support Scheme, KOFIC)

This program supports films by Korean companies co-produced with foreign producers under international co-production contract. Through biannual open calls, selected projects receive funding of up to 50% of the production costs the Korean partner is responsible for financing — capped at KRW 500 million. Grant funds are payable only to Korean taxpayers, whether corporate or individual. The grant principal is recouped on a subordinated basis to other financiers, limited to net profit generated.

Purin Film Fund / Prima SIRIVASUNTRA (Coordinator, Purin Film Fund)

Purin Film Fund is a non-profit foundation that supports cinema in Southeast Asia. Founded in 2017, we provide grants to filmmakers and organizations doing essential work in a region with inadequate governmental support. Some of our recent titles screening in Busan 2026 include 9 Temples to Heaven by Sompot Chidgasornpongse, Ria by Arvin Belarmino, Hearing by Le Bao, and Baby Jackfruit Baby Guava by Quang Nong Nhat.

Taiwan's International Co-funding Program (TICP) / Minna LIU (Director of International Business, TAIWAN CREATIVE CONTENT AGENCY (TAICCA))

TAIWAN’S INTERNATIONAL CO-FUNDING PROGRAM (TICP) by TAICCA focuses on fostering global partnerships through international co-productions featuring Taiwan elements. Its key support scope provides project investment covering up to 49% of the total budget. Target projects include feature films, series, documentaries, animations, variety shows, and digital games that demonstrate international co-financing and distribution potential.
