Brazil and South Korea are strengthening their positions in the global screen economy, creating new opportunities for cross-regional collaboration. 'New Routes for the Screen Industry: Building and Strengthening Brazil–Korea Connections' brings together industry leaders to explore co-production, financing, distribution, intellectual property, platforms and emerging business models. Highlighting female perspectives, the panel examines strategies to expand content circulation, investment and sustainable business partnerships between Latin America and Asia.

Morris KACHANI (Executive Manager, CINEMA DO BRASIL (SIAESP, APEXBRASIL))

Morris Kachani is the manager of Cinema do Brasil, a program promoting Brazilian audiovisual content internationally—a partnership between the Audiovisual Industry Union of the State of São Paulo (SIAESP) and the Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency (ApexBrasil). Previously, he was the non-fiction manager at Prodigo Films and a screenwriter for the TV Globo programs Caldeirão do Huck and Encontro com Fátima Bernardes. He was also an executive at Editora Abril and worked for some of the country’s leading media outlets—such as Folha, Estadão, Veja, and Trip—serving as a reporter, editor, and publisher.

Yana CHANG (Executive Director, ABRASIA / Producer, +MULHERES INSTITUTE / SOUTH)

Yana Chang is a producer and partner at SOUTH, where she leads a slate of films with a strong creative and editorial identity. Her previous work includes The Falling Sky (Directors’ Fortnight, Cannes 2024) and the HBO series City of God. She is also Co-Founder and Executive Director of ABRASIA, and a UNESCO technical consultant supporting the Brazilian Ministry of Culture’s engagement with Asian markets. Member of +Mulheres Institute.

Cassie YOO(Yoo Jin) (CEO / Executive Producer, THE SOUL CREATIVE LTD.)

An entertainment and media executive with exceptional understanding of Korea and U.S. entertainment/digital/media ecosystems. Creative and collaborative deal maker with a focus on building bridges in a multinational environment. A skillful problem solver with 25+ years hands-on experience in the industry. Bilingual in English and Korean, having grown up in the US with solid cross-functional and interpersonal skills. Deep and extensive network of executives, talent reps, producers, creators and corporate leaders. Able to adapt to and navigate diverse business and partnership environments to facilitate communication and team work.

Akira MARTINS (Director, ABRASIA / Executive Director, 061 FILMS)

Akira Martins is a film producer, specialist in strategic partnerships, and international facilitator, working at the intersection of Europe, Latin America, and Asia. With nearly two decades of experience in the audiovisual industry, he has built a career that combines narrative, business development, and international collaboration. He is the founder of 061 Films and +43 Films, co-founder of ABRASIA, and is currently pursuing a Master's degree in European Film Business and Law. With extensive international experience, he develops projects and partnerships that bridge cultures and create sustainable opportunities for international collaboration.
